Dear Eric,
Yes, Mark and I made it back to Denver just fine. First of all, we,
want to thank you both for really the trip of a lifetime. The biking, scenery,
people, food--everything was perfect. We had a great adventure. We like
to think that we can plan our own trips without the help of professional
guides, but this trip was far beyond anything we could have done. You put
together a great route, allowing us to experience many different beautiful
and remote areas. Your van support and guide were wonderful. It was nice
not to have to worry about any of the logistics of such a trip. I would
highly recommend this trip to anyone. You are the best. Thanks for a wonderful
week.
Mark will be e-mailing you in the next couple of days with the information you wanted regarding advertising in other magazines here in the USA. Hope all is well!

I spent four days touring the mountains around Mexico with Eric while working for the International Mountain Bicycling Association in the summer of 1999. The ride from El Ajusco to Malinalco was one of the most epic rides of my life. The trail, which features some of the most beautiful vistas in Mexico, is about 80km; dropping 4,500 ft. from the chilly pine forests above Mexico City, to "The Land of The Eternal Spring" in the valley below.
Eric has the expertise, education and knowledge of the local terrain to lead a group on an exceptional adventure, customized to their individual preferences and riding ability.
You can expect an epic ride, huge climbs, forearm burning descents and a great meal following each day's rally. Furthermore, Eric provides clean, comfortable and safe transportation to and from the trailhead. Not to mention convenient rendezvous with his chauffeur, a snack and a fresh water bottle on longer rides.
I would highly recommend a trip
with Mountain Bike Mexico and look forward to going for another ride when
I'm back in the area in 2000.

The Pico de Orizaba-Xalapa trip was the best yet. I'd have to say that the combination of stunning scenery, physical challenge and camaraderie over three days will be hard to top. My prior two trips with Bike Shuttle, Ajusco-Lagunas de Zempoala and Rio Frio-Amecamca (with that amazing climb toward Iztaccihuatl), were great. But because they were one-day rides, they lacked that element of really getting disconnected from the day-to-day grind.
The Pico's glacier cap, the riveting decent to the valley below and the leg-screaming climbs to San Francisco and beyond have been etched in my memory, and probably my quadriceps as well. The accommodations were simple but more than adequate; the hot showers are definitely a necessity, and I don't think any of the others on the ride will disagree. The meals, particularly the dinners, were excellent. There's nothing better when you're hungry enough to eat a horse burger to get treated to back-to-back plates of fresh trout or enough langostinos to feed Chilchiuapan for a week.
The Rio Pescados white-water rafting trip was an exhilarating finale, despite my lame attempt at "canyoning."
Anyway, as you can tell I had a great time and look forward to riding with you again soon.
Best regards

Dear Eric:
I would like to comment on our recent trip on MTB down the Pico de Orizaba, Mexico's highest mountain, and ending in Xico, Veracruz. The 3 day trip was excellent. Tough terrain in parts, a lot of good exercise- it certainly was not all down hill- even though we did descend a great deal: from 4,300 mts to 1,400 mts in altitude over sea level. The climbs were tough, but manageable if you have good physical condition and a good bike.
The food was great, the sleeping accommodations were adequate and clean, and above all the countryside is spectacular and interesting, changing all the time. The final day was also a lot of fun, going rafting on the Pescados river- a IV level which kept us all busy, and wet, on the raft!
I highly recommend this trip to any one looking for real adventure and challenge, in a small group of 6 or 7 bikers.
